Meet Our Board of Directors 2020 - 2021

President: Emily Kratz, MPH, RD, CDN, CSO

Emily has her Bachelor's Degree in nutrition & dietetic from Syracuse University, and also completed her dietetic internship there. She then obtained her Master of Public Health from SUNY Upstate. She has experience in both long term and acute care. She is now a Registered Dietitian at Hematology Oncology Associates of CNY. She enjoys being involved with CNYDA and has been on the Nominating Committee, National Nutrition Month Committee, and was also Membership Chair. She loves animals, traveling, Netflix, and music.

President Elect: Gregory Belzak, RD

Greg received his bachelor's degree in Nutrition from Syracuse University. He also completed his dietetic internship there as well. Greg is currently working as a registered dietitian in long-term care. In past years he has been involved with CNYDA as a Social Media Co-Chair, and Public Relations Chair. 

Immediate Past President: Maria Mahar, MA, RD, CDN

Maria is the past chair of the Health Aging Dietetic Practice Group for The Academy of  Nutrition and Dietetics; she is was also the past president of the New York State Academy of Nutrition Dietetic Association. She is the Director of Nutrition Services at the Onondaga County Department of Adult and Long Term Care Services. Awarded the New York State Emerging Dietitian of the Year 2010, Maria’s favorite leadership quote is “Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other” —John F. Kennedy

Secretary and Reimbursement Chair: Kristen Davis MS, RD, CDN, CLC

Kristen is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Lactation Counselor with experience in counseling and educating both children and adults.  She holds a Master of Science degree in Nutrition Science from Syracuse University where she also completed her Dietetic Internship.  She has worked in pediatric nutrition at Golisano Children's Hospital and currently works in private practice providing nutrition counseling and education for both individuals and groups in the community.

Treasurer: Laura Brown, RD

Laura currently works in LTC at Loretto. She completed her DI and M.S. in Nutrition Science at Syracuse University. Laura currently serves as the Treasurer and previously held the position of Nominating Committee co-chair for CNYDA. She previously had a career in accounting with a B.S. and M.S. in accounting from Syracuse University.

Nominating Co-Chair: Jackie Hanks, RD, CDN, CDCES

Jackie works as an outpatient dietitian at the Syracuse VA Medical Center with primary care and the Endocrine department. She has served on the board for the past 3 years on the nominating committee. Her passions include fitness and cooking. She also enjoys spending time with her family and her dog Ramsi. 

National Nutrition Month Chair: Francesca Sereno, RD

Francesca is from Syracuse, NY. She completed both her undergraduate and dietetic internship from Syracuse University. She is currently a Clinical Dietitian in acute care at Loretto Rehabilitation.

National Nutrition Month Co-Chair: Maria Winkworth, RD

Maria obtained a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics and completed a Dietetic Internship at Syracuse University. She is a registered dietitian at Kelly’s Choice Nutritional Company. Maria enjoys spending her free time cooking, gardening, hiking, and dancing.

Professional Development Co-Chair: Emily Tills MS, RD, CDN

Emily attended Marywood University's Coordinated Program in Nutrition and Dietetics and graduated in 2018. She has her Master's Degree in Applied Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition from Concordia University from Chicago. She is the Clinical Dietitian at Seneca Hill Manor in Oswego NY, as well as owns her own 1:1 Nutrition coaching business, Nourished with Emily, where she works with women to build healthy lifestyle habits and for weight loss. She enjoys hanging out with family, Syracuse University Football, traveling, and playing with her dog, Mr. Magoo.

Public Policy Chair: Heather Hudson, MA, RD, CDN

Heather earned her Masters in Nutrition Science from Syracuse University and has spent her career in community nutrition. She is the Nutrition Services Coordinator at the Onondaga County Department of Adult and Long Term Care Services. Heather has participated in local, state, and national workgroups focused on initiatives that improve access and availability of nutritious food to low-income and vulnerable populations. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Website Liaison: Sydney Narzabal, MS, RD

Sydney is a Clinical Dietitian at Loretto Health and Rehabilitation. She completed her Bachelor's, Master's and dietetic internship through SUNY Oneonta. This is her first year with the CNYDA. Sydney enjoys cooking/baking, exercising and listening to podcasts.

Public Relations & Social Media Chair: Amanda Woolnough, M.A.

Amanda is currently a dietetic intern at Syracuse University. Her goal is to work in pediatric dietetics and to work with individuals suffering from diabetes. She received her master's degree from Syracuse University in Nutrition Science and Dietetics last spring. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her goldendoodles outdoors.

Membership Chair: Kate Bartleson Dee, MS, RD, CDN

Kate earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Management from Rochester Institute of Technology before moving to Syracuse to complete her dietetic internship and Master’s Degree in Exercise Science at Syracuse University. She now works as a Registered Dietitian for Morrison Living at Iroquois Nursing Home. Outside of work, Kate enjoys running, traveling, and chasing after her dog, Charlie.

Student Representative: Olivia Mancabelli

Olivia is a first year graduate student at Syracuse University studying Nutrition Science and Dietetics on the DPD track. She earned her Bachelor's degree in psychology and human development, with focus on childhood and adolescent growth, from SUNY Geneseo. She also works part time at the Breast Care Center at the Upstate University Hospital Community Campus.

Student Representative: Georgia Barton

Georgia is majoring in nutrition at Syracuse University. She is from Brooklyn, NY and she loves watching YouTube videos and reading books.
